Join fellow mamas to talk about all things lactation and mothering through breastfeeding & more in our Lactation Support Groups.  These groups are facilitated by Certified Lactation Counselors but the focus is mother-to-mother support.  Baby weigh scale available.   In person groups require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a properly worn mask.  Zoom access is available for those who cannot attend in person:

Baby & Me is a safe, judgement-free, lively circle of supportive parents led by Newborn Family Coach, Kim Martino-Sexton and Experienced Mom, Ashton Clote. We know how wonderful and challenging life with a new baby can be. No matter if you are formula or breastfeeding, disposable or cloth diapering, using a pacifier or not, we all have one thing in common - our babies did not come with a manual. As experienced parents, we know you are the expert of your family even if you're not sure yet. Come as you are, with your kiddos and let's walk this journey together.

Lactation Support Groups

Along with your new little bundle of joy comes a ton of questions and concerns for nursing moms. Who better to connect with than other mamas who are going through the same thing! Kangaroo Kids’ Lactation Support Group is the perfect place to make friends with those who share your breastfeeding journey and are facing similar challenges. Enjoy conversation, share tips and experiences, get advice, find encouragement, and relieve your anxieties. The Lactation Support Group is facilitated by one of our certified lactation specialists, but the main focus is on mother-to-mother support. Bring your baby and come join us every Thursday from 12:30pm till 2:00pm and every Saturday from 10:00am till 11:30am.  It’s FREE! And don’t worry if you’re late—we’re always on “baby time” at Kangaroo Kids. Come as you are and bring your baby!


MOMS Group

The early days, weeks and months of motherhood can be both joyful and overwhelming. Sharing the ups and downs with one another is the best way to heal and grow.

The MOMS Group is a free peer support group for expectant and postpartum people experiencing any form of baby blues, anxiety, overwhelm, and/or depression.  Babies in arms and siblings are welcome. Trained postpartum peer coaches, moms, who have been there and have gone through these experiences already, lead the MOMS GROUP.

    Cloth Diaper 101 (currently suspended)

     When it comes to cloth diapers, do you know which end is up? Cloth diapers today are very different from what your grandmother used. If you are considering or have decided that cloth is the way to go for your baby, you’ll need to get savvy on the basics of choosing and using this natural alternative. “Cloth Diaper 101” will answer all of your questions. Join us for this FREE class to learn about the benefits and types of cloth diapers, as well as how to wash them at home or how diaper service works.

      Infant CPR Class

      Do you know how to help a baby with a breathing or choking emergency? Our Infant CPR class will prepare you to perform CPR on a newborn baby up until their first year, as well as how to help a baby that is choking. Grandparents and babysitters are also encouraged to attend to learn these safety basics. The Infant CPR class is taught by St. Louis American Heart Association instructors from St. Louis Safety Basics.

      Safety Basic's Virtual Zoom Meeting Infant CPR Classes: Learn infant CPR for babies newborn thru first birthday and how to help a baby with a choking emergency in the infant module of CPR for Family and Friend. Live class led by Safety Basic's American Heart Association Instructor using Zoom meeting. Class recommended for expectant or new parents or grandparents and babysitters not requiring a certification card.  Brief overview of child CPR provided at end. Fee: $28/person or $50/couple. You can use a regular size baby doll or teddy bear to practice skills at home or can schedule pick up of a loaner infant manikin kit from Safety Basics to practice skills for $40 with CPR for Family and Friends book.$30 refunded once manikin kit is returned.  Register are https://www.stlsafetybasics.net/cpr-participation-level
       
      Online Self Directed Infant CPR Class: Learn infant CPR for babies newborn thru first birthday and how to help a baby with a choking emergency on your own with our online videos led by American Heart Association Safety Basic's Instructor. Class recommended for expectant or new parents or grandparents and babysitters not requiring a certification card.  $22 for online learning only. Option to check out loaner infant manikin kit to practice skills for $40 with CPR for Family and Friends book. $30 refunded upon return of manikin kit.
