We know that even though breastfeeding is natural, it doesn’t always come naturally. That’s why we’re here to help get you off to a good start and support you as you navigate these new waters. Every question is important; every concern is taken seriously; and every fear is put to rest at Kangaroo Kids.

Lactation Support Groups
Along with your new little bundle of joy comes a ton of questions and concerns for nursing moms. Who better to connect with than other mamas who are going through the same thing! Kangaroo Kids’ Lactation Support Group is the perfect place to make friends with those who share your breastfeeding journey and are facing similar challenges. Enjoy conversation, share tips and experiences, get advice, find encouragement, and relieve your anxieties. The Lactation Support Group is facilitated by one of our certified lactation specialists, but the main focus is on mother-to-mother support. Bring your baby and come join us every Thursday at 12:30pm and every Saturday at 10:00am. It’s FREE! And don’t worry if you’re late—we’re always on “baby time” at Kangaroo Kids. Come as you are and bring your baby!

The early days, weeks and months of motherhood can be both joyful and overwhelming. Sharing the ups and downs with one another is the best way to heal and grow.
The MOMS Group is a free peer support group for expectant and postpartum moms experiencing any form of baby blues, anxiety, overwhelm, and/or depression. All moms are welcome and registration is not necessary. Babies in arms and siblings are welcome. Trained postpartum peer coaches, moms, who have been there and have gone through these experiences already, lead the MOMS GROUP.

Infant Massage Class
Bring your baby, a favorite blanket and be ready to have some fun. In four weeks you will be your babies own personal massage therapist. Babes birth to crawling; teething/fussy babies and all are WELCOME! Older siblings welcome as well. Start this class any Friday that works for you as it is a four week series with weekly rotating themes:
~ FEET AND LEGS
~ TUMMY AND COLIC
~ CHEST AND ARMS
~ FACE AND BACK
Each week includes 15 minutes of circle time for welcoming, sharing, breathing and centering. We then flow into 30-45 minutes of massage time with our babies followed by time to visit with other parents as we feed, change and get our babies ready to go. This is a great opportunity for getting to know one another, sharing tips, questions and experiences. If you miss a week, no worries, just join us next month for the class you missed (because life happens!)
$60 for x4 class series: Includes picture handouts, 3 oz bottle of baby massage grapeseed oil (with soothing essential oils) and a personalized graduation certificate!

Cloth Diaper 101
When it comes to cloth diapers, do you know which end is up? Cloth diapers today are very different from what your grandmother used. If you are considering or have decided that cloth is the way to go for your baby, you’ll need to get savvy on the basics of choosing and using this natural alternative. “Cloth Diaper 101” will answer all of your questions. Join us for this FREE class to learn about the benefits and types of cloth diapers, as well as how to wash them at home or how diaper service works.

La Leche League Toddler Group
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Infant CPR Class
Do you know how to help a baby with a breathing or choking emergency? Our Infant CPR class will prepare you to perform CPR on a newborn baby up until their first year, as well as how to help a baby that is choking. Grandparents and babysitters are also encouraged to attend to learn these safety basics. The Infant CPR class is taught by St. Louis American Heart Association instructors.

Baby & Me Group
Baby & Me is a safe, judgement-free, lively circle of supportive parents led by Newborn Family Coaches, Kim Martino-Sexton & Julia Cooper of Spectrum Birth Services. Join us weekly as we share our wisdom, make new friends and find humor amongst the challenges. Whether you are breastfeeding, formula feeding, cloth diapering or using disposable diapers, this circle is for you. Topics covered include sleep, transitions, nutrition, sibling adjustment, and partner relationships… This is your group, you get to ask and share. All parenting styles are supported and we truly believe you know your baby best! Siblings welcome!
